After looking at pictures of this Bur Oak, well... its MASSIVE!!! Man, I live in a suburban area and I have saved up my money and I am planning to buy one. One thing for sure though is that I completely agree with a Bur Oak in a big garden but definitely unsuitable for a small one!

I had tried many trees in my garden before finally finding the Bur Oak. It is definitely the tree everyone needs to have for their yard or garden.

Our Mighty Burr Oaks
I am so in love with these trees. Try them if you have the space. They keep my home sheltered and shaded.

Live oak- center of attention
We have these in our yard in town and had them on our ranch they grow very large and have leaves year round. They have a huge radius so do not plant within 30' of your foundation. They grow easily from acorns but leaves are not shaped like an oak. Beautiful shade trees and take very little upkeep. Trim lower banches early to train main trunk to grow straight then 2-3 branches out to form lovely lofty shade tree.

I bought a chinkapin oak last year, so this is it's first year growing here in very acidic soil, should I put some lime around it.
